Norovirus is circulating in the local community!

If you have symptoms of Norovirus (diarrhoea and/or vomiting) you are urged not to attend walk-in centre, your GP or the hospital, but to remain at home until you have been clear of symptoms for 48 hours. Please call NHS 111 if you need assistance.

Pharmacy Sharps Collection Service update

Patients have been given incorrect information about disposing of sharps, in some instances this has been due to information obtained from old leaflets eg "Wirral Your Sharps Box". Please make sure that old leaflets are removed from circulation.

Please advise your patients that the Pharmacy Sharps Collection Service is operated by Wirral Pharmacies to provide members of the public a means of safely disposing their medical sharps. This service is voluntary and is not provided by all pharmacies.

Please see a list of participating pharmacies here.

Please note this service is separate from the Wirral Ways to Recovery Needle Exchange Service.
