Election process for our Council of Governors starts TODAY!

Are you aged sixteen and over, live in Wirral and enthusiastic about helping improve your community NHS services?


Then Wirral Community NHS Trust wants to hear from YOU!


The election process for our Council of Governors starts TODAY and the trust is hosting information sessions over the next week about how you can get involved.


The sessions will include information about the role of NHS governors and what the election process is like.


They will be held on:


  • Friday 4 September 2pm-4pm at St Catherine's Health Centre
  • Monday 7 September 1pm-3pm AND 6pm-8pm at Victoria Central Health Centre


The Council of Governors is a group of people elected and appointed to represent the interests of trust members, stakeholder organisations and the wider community. Governors also oversee the work of the Board and help to set the overall direction of the trust.


The Council will be made up of 19 people, including members of the public, staff, and stakeholder and partner organisations.


The election process will be independently run by UK Engage and formally starts today with the notice of election.


Anybody interested in standing for election will need to complete a statement of nomination by Thursday 1 October 2015.


All members will receive ballot packs to register their vote on Friday 16 October 2015 with the deadline/close of poll at 5.00pm on Tuesday 10 November 2015.


The results for our first Council of Governors will be declared on Wednesday 11 November 2015.
