Celebrate Breastfeeding Awareness month with us!

Wirral Community NHS Foundation Trust is celebrating Breastfeeding Awareness Month June 2016 with some fun-filled events for all the family. This coming June will be a great opportunity for expectant mums, new mums and their families to find out what support and information is on offer in Wirral.

You can attend one of our numerous 'Big Feed' events, or maybe pop in to the Breastfeeding Road show for great activities and information

The "Big Feed"events are taking place at a range of venues across Wirral, where we encourage local mums to come and breastfeed. There will be lots of activities for everyone to get involved in, as well as information and advice in a relaxed, social setting.

The ever popular Breastfeeding Road Show at Marine Point is back! Healthcare professionals will be available to talk to families about the benefits of breastfeeding and why it's good for them and their baby. There will also be plenty of games, arts, craft activities and music to enjoy.

'Teddy Bears' Picnic' in Birkenhead Park is a family favourite, where you can bring along teddies and picnic treats, and enjoy a relaxed morning together. Arrowe Park Activity week will be running from Monday 13 June, where you can expect some exciting events at the Women and Children's Unit.

Clare Whitehead, Infant Feeding Lead, said: "These events are unique opportunities to get involved and ask any questions in a friendly and welcoming setting. We are here to support, alleviate concerns, encourage and even empower mums to learn about breastfeeding."

Make sure you also keep an eye out on the trust's Twitter page (@wirralct) for all the latest news and developments for Breastfeeding Awareness Month 2016.
