Norovirus is circulating in the local community!

If you have symptoms of Norovirus (diarrhoea and/or vomiting) you are urged not to attend walk-in centre, your GP or the hospital, but to remain at home until you have been clear of symptoms for 48 hours. Please call NHS 111 if you need assistance.

This week the Trust is supporting International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW) with our Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Team sharing messages throughout the week. The key messages will be shared across our Twitter and Facebook pages, internally with staff, and at Catherine's Health Centre, where the IPC team will be displaying an information stand throughout the campaign.

What are the key messages that IPC are promoting this IIPW?

  • Environmental cleaning
  • Bare below the elbow
  • Hand hygiene
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Urinalysis

The team will also be raising awareness of the identification and prevention of infection, covering concerns such as Sepsis and Influenza, as well as how to manage infections, with advice covering hydration and hand washing.

Want to find out more about the above key topics? Below are some useful resources to give you some more information.
