Final Fortnight: Have your say!

Now that the local elections are over our public consultation can resume!

There are just two weeks left to have YOUR say on YOUR local community NHS services.

We want to hear your views about our plans to become a Community Foundation Trust.

You may have accessed our services in some way, whether it be through community nursing, health visiting, GP out of hours, walk-in centres, physiotherapy, stop smoking services or weight management courses. Dozens of services are provided at over 100 health centres, clinics, community centres, schools and colleges right across Wirral. Many are even available in your own home.

Becoming a Community Foundation Trust will give Wirral residents more say in what services are provided in their community and how they are run. NHS Foundation Trusts have the freedom to develop their own strategies to improve and develop local services. They can reinvest financial surpluses directly back into services, or responsibly borrow money to invest in community schemes.

Foundation Trusts still provide the same high quality free NHS care. They just have more freedom to develop health services that are tailored for and with their local communities.

Over the next fortnight we are holding a number of events for people to let us know what they think about our plans.
