Art Exhibition Brings Health and Communities Together

Wirral Community NHS Foundation Trust is launching a new art exhibition at St Catherine’s Health Centre. Working in partnership with St Mary’s Catholic College, students will have their artwork on display in the health centre, creating a bright and stimulating environment for patients and visitors to enjoy.

The exhibition will feature work by pupils from St Mary’s Catholic College, around the theme “Colour in Nature and Animals”, in a number of styles including ink, wax and printing.

The launch and private view for pupils and their families is being held on Monday 27th November 2017. Mayor of Wirral, Councillor Ann McLachlan will be attending and will be switching on the St Catherine’s Health Centre Christmas Lights. The school will also be providing musical entertainment with performances from the school’s choir, brass band and dancing troop!

Karen Howell, Chief Executive at Wirral Community NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This health centre is a community asset and we are delighted to be able to exhibit art from local schools here for the public to enjoy. Creating a positive healthcare environment for patients and our staff is very important to us and the work on display from St Mary’s will help us to do just that.”

The exhibition is supported by The Arts Society Wirral who kindly funded the artwork frames.

The exhibition is a rolling programme and the trust is looking forward to working with other local schools to give more pupils the opportunity to showcase their artwork next year.
