Wirral Community NHS Trust forms its first Council of Governors

Wirral Community NHS Trust is delighted to announce the formation of its first Council of Governors.

 

During October and November, staff and public members have been voting for governors to represent them on the new Council. With the close of voting on 11 November, the constituencies and names of our 13 elected governors and six appointed governors have now been confirmed.

The Council of Governors has an important job, overseeing the running of the trust and representing the interests of members and the public. When Wirral Community NHS Trust becomes a foundation trust (expected in early 2016) the governors will have a number of formal powers, which include appointing the Non-Executive board members.
