**Visit a Walk-in Centre for your minor injury or illness**

If you have a minor injury or illness, you can be seen quicker at a Walk-in Centre than at A&E.

Walk-in Centres provide assessment, treatment and advice for minor injuries and illnesses including: infections and rashes, bruises, burns and strains, coughs, colds and flu, earache,
minor cuts and wounds, stomach ache, indigestion, constipation, vomiting and diarrhoea.

If you have a muscle / joint injury, need stitches or an X-ray, visit Victoria Central Walk-in Centre and the Minor Injuries Unit.

The Red Book just got better!

The Red Book just got better!

We're delighted to launch our new and improved RED BOOK which provides loads of information and advice to new and expectant parents.

Given out by midwives during the antenatal period, it's the perfect resource to capture essential health information and updates about your child throughout their early years. It also helps to share information between parents, carers and health professionals at your child's appointments.

So what's different...?

The new book provides even more information and advice than before including:

  • more health promotion information to support children eg accident prevention, sleeping, infant feeding and weaning, toileting, managing childhood behaviours, dental care
  • more health promotion information to support families eg post natal depression, anxiety, stopping smoking
  • information that parents can use to promote their child's development
  • information about healthy babies, and how to recognise and respond to signs of ill health, including in an emergency
  • immunisation information and recording facility, including provision for additional immunisation such as for travel
  • a local and national directory of useful contact information
  • information about how to provide feedback on services, and to access volunteering opportunities

The Red Book is not just a great resource and toolkit, it makes a valued keepsake to look back on during those early and very special years with your "little one".
