Stoptober 2013

During October, the nation's biggest ever mass participation stop smoking challenge launches for its second year.

We are encouraging smokers in Wirral to quit together by signing up to a 28 day Stoptober challenge, which starts on 1st October. Throughout September our teams will be encouraging people to sign up to the Stoptober challenge, offering them the support they need to become smokefree. Look out for our teams across Wirral who will support you throughout your quit journey. Research shows you are four times more likely to quit with this extra support than stopping on your own.

After signing up to Stoptober 2013 you will receive a stop smoking pack. You will also be able to download a free 28-day mobile phone app, which includes:

  • detailed tools and tips for coping

  • motivational support from thousands of people quitting together through Stoptober social media

  • text support

Last year over 160,000 people successfully quit. And although most people will start their quit journey on the 1st October, people can quit at any time during the month and still receive specialist support from our stop smoking team.
