Hoax text messages

Wirral Community NHS Trust is investigating a series of hoax text messages that have been sent to members of the public regarding medical test results.

 

The hoax messages ask people to contact the trust's Sexual Health Service or their GP regarding positive HIV results other test results also eg chlamydia and gonorrhoea.

 

Most of the people receiving these hoax messages are not patients of the Sexual Health Service and the source of the hoax messages is currently unknown.

 

Anyone receiving a hoax text message should contact the trust on 0151 514 6464 and speak to a member of the Sexual Health team.

 

Patients who have attended the Sexual Health Service and are waiting for genuine test results by text message will continue to do so and should contact the service if they have any queries.
